Youth Rules, Standards, & Consequences

Drop Off/Pick Up

For safety and accountability, please know where your youth is when they are not with us. We are only responsible for them during prayer/service times.

If you do not plan to stay for the service and drop your youth off, please communicate with Pastor Drew or Pastor Brittany when doing so by call/text.

Classroom Rules & Standards

We have rules for safety and standards for order. We require each youth to follow them.

  1. Do not go anywhere unless given permission - they should have everything they need before 6:30pm (i.e. use bathroom, have phone/items, etc.)
  2. If someone does need to go to the bathroom, they must ask permission from the pastors or adult leaders and can only go one at a time. (If we suspect any misconduct, an adult leader will escort them to and from the bathroom)
  3. Do not talk over or interrupt one another
  4. Do not get up during the lesson
  5. Do not bully anyone
  6. Be respectful to each other
  7. Do not fight (physical or words)
  8. No excessive phone use (will take phone away if necessary)
  9. Dress appropriately
  10. No inappropriate phone use (i.e. showing inappropriate pictures to others, playing banned games, playing explicit music, etc.)

Consequences

The consequences may vary or be expedited depending on the severity and attitude of misconduct.
  1. Warning
  2. Pull youth and parent out of classes to address issue
  3. Youth sit with a parent for the rest of the evening (if parent is unavailable, they will sit with a church staff member or leader)

In some cases, we may opt to handle disciplinary action in youth by having them do pushups or wall sits. This is only when the misconduct is not severe enough to take them and their parents out of class.

Youth Serving Opportunities

We do not have any specific classes for the youth on Sundays. Instead, we encourage our youth to join a serving ministry!

Check which serving ministries your youth is interested in, and we will connect you with that ministry leader. If they don't know where they'd like to serve yet, just click "not sure yet".

If not serving in a ministry, youth are expected to be in the sanctuary to worship and listen to the message.

Youth are expected to keep up with their serving schedule and communicate with their ministry leader about availability.

Parent Serving Opportunity

We know that you, as a parent, may be looking for ways that you can be involved, and we love that!

One opportunity is to join the Youth Food Volunteer rotation.

This is a group of parents and church members who have volunteered to cook, order, or provide the funds to buy food for the youth every Wednesday night. Each volunteer does this once every 2-3 months, depending on how many we have on the rotation.

If this sounds like something you'd like to be apart of, let us know below! We will get your information to Ellen Waycaster (she handles the schedule), and she will reach out to you soon!

If this isn't feasible for you right now, that's okay! Just tell us below.

Parents are welcome to join any youth events. All events will be communicated to the youth in person and can be found on the “Events” tab in the Revive Church app.
